It was a non-football Saturday in Ann Arbor last week. The Wolverines were out of town to take on the Hawkeyes in Iowa. I was in Ann Arbor with the Great Lakes Interactive Marketing Association's Western Wayne, Livingston and Ann Arbor chapter for a Saturday Morning Seminar. It was well worth the trip, by the way. Rich Shreridan from Menlo Innovations, more here, gave a great presentation on Search Engine Marketing with Google AdWords. Some great ideas. "Less marketing fluff, more content," "Don't talk about the widgets, talk about problem solving as it relates to the widgets," "It's not about Creativity and Repetition, it's about interrupt, engage, educate and offer," were just a few of the nuggets that I took away from the meeting. Also saw an excellent presentation by David Fry of Fry, Inc., a powerhouse Interactive Marketing company in the B to C space, more here. The web just keeps enabling new ways to interact with your customers. Finally heard from Dale Weston of Travel Automation, more here, about how the company was finally able to partner with Sabre to get there products into travel agancies. All in all a morning well spent, and I made it home in time to see the Wolverines win in Overtime. |
