How does this guy do it?

I was born and raised in Detroit. I still live nearby and I follow the Lions to some small degree. Actually, after they lost to Dallas in the playoffs in 1970 by the grand score of 5 - 0 I didn't watch another game until about 5 years ago.

Then the Lions bought in a new general manager named Matt Millen, a great former player, won a couple of Super Bowls. They have now had 3 different head coaches in the past 5 years. This year Steve Mariucchi got sacked mid season and it could not have happened soon enough, the Lions were in a total tailspin.

Watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and their great back Jerome Bettis beat the Lions this past weekend, Bettis by the way is also a Detroit native, I made my New Year's resolution - be the Jerome Bettis of NetSuite Implementation. I love this guy's attitude; he respects the game, himself, his team and his coaches because he cares. The whole Pittsburgh team exudes the same character. But to get there wasn't easy. They said good bye to some talented players who lacked that character.

Detroit on the other hand has no such character. They are constantly acting up in the most disrespectful ways towards the game, each other, their coaches. The difference between a successful team and character and a failed team and character could not have been more evident. Thanks Jerome for a great example of what great character can accomplish.
